After collecting the skulls of the three Champions Zeus, edxous, and the harrower. I climbed up the alter to call forth the Rune master. I placed the skulls into the flames one at a time. Upon Tossing the third skull a portal opens before me. As i enter the portal it takes me to a place filled with great giants and titans. After battling my way to the end of the cave I come face to face with the Rune master. Tho he looked to be a simple man. Nothing could be further from the truth, because what i was looking at was nothing less then a Devilish god. After battling this monster I realized i could not take this beast by myself so i call Nedrac to come help. We battle the Rune master for what seemed to be an hour in a grueling fight to the death. As the Master started to show signs of weakening the coward opened a portal and fled. By the time we made it threw the portal he was no where to be seen and leaving only traces of where he went. As we followed his trail we came into a lair of sorts with many evil creatures many fell easily with our combined might.
Alas as we ventured deeper the trail grew weaker and then we came to a portal that took us to a courtyard. In the courtyard there was no trace of where the Rune master made it off to. We had a few ways to check where he may have gone. We entered the first cave. Upon entering the cave we were almost slaughtered by the hoard of great beasts crowded in the small cave. After a very hard grueling battle that seemed to be a sure defeat. We manged to gather up enough strength to fight them off and make our way back out of the cave. Back in the courtyard we still have a few choices we could make luckily we chose the right path this time and found the coward. In the cave with him was a few Balrons but they fell easily under the might of my hammer. After I slay the two Balrons I turn my attention to the Rune Master. Before I engage him i notice he is fully rested. Once Nedrac was ready I charged the Rune Master. Upon reaching him he summons shadows fiends to defend him. After what seemed like a life time of hand to hand combat. Nimrod arrived and gave me some support in the Mêlée. Soon after the Rune Master realized that he was out matched and tried to flee but not havening enough power to call forth another gate all he could do is run. After chasing him a ways we finally scored the finishing blow and slew the demonic man.
[ps. this battle in all took us about 2 hours or longer and we used pets as well.]
