As you will notice, Akara has gone through a big change. With the conversion to 2.0 you will see new skills, new items, new abilities, and entirely new experience and guild systems. All these new updates required an entirely new set of patches. One of the biggest changes :
UOGateway will NO longer be supported.
You must go to www.connectuo.com and download and install the latest version of ConnectUO Desktop. That is the only way to install the new patch files, which have been reduced in size to only 16 meg, so they are even accessible to people using dial-up to connect. I've personally tested it, it takes about 50 mins, but it's well worth it.
It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you patch your client up to the latest version, which is 6.0.2.0 at the moment. This must be done BEFORE connecting to Akara and downloading our patches. If you do not update your client, the patches may not install correctly. If you patch your client after patching the shard, you will still need to reset your patches in ConnectUO and repatch the shard again.
ALL EXISTING PLAYERS who are using ConnectUO need to reset your patches for Akara. This can be done by clicking Details on the right hand side of the Akara tab, then clicking Reset Patches on the next screen. Click OK to confirm and then wait for them to reset successfully. Patch the client up to the latest version, then connect to Akara to install the new patches.
All Players who use RAZOR will need to upgrade to the lastest version 1.0.9. The older versions will no longer connect to Akara. This can be done by going to www.razor.com and downloading the lastest version.
In the next few days, please be patient with the staff. Most of them are still learning about all the new systems just like you are. If you notice anything you think might be wrong, please report it to the staff immediately. They may not have an answer for you, but they can deliver the message to the right people.
